Hi lovies! I hope you have been having a wonderful and pain-free week! I unfortunately haven't had that luck, but you can read about that it my weekly newsletter! If you aren't receiving those, sign up on the homepage so you can get notified of my weekly antics.
This week I'm going to be talking about an app that I wasn't sure if I would find useful, DrugStars. The first time I heard about it was in an email from the CIB Network about potential sponsors. Out of curiosity, I downloaded it, and was actually impressed by the app. I liked
the color scheme (a superficial thing that is really important to me), the ways they motivate you to log your medication, and the ability to give back to the community by simply taking your medication! Above are a few pictures and a summary of what DrugStars is all about, now let's dive deeper into what makes them different.
As you know, I take a lot of vitamins and supplements. In my tutorial video above, I shortened it to my main three medications, so it would be easier to follow. It can be pretty difficult to remember which ones I've taken already, and that's where Drug Stars comes in. If I do the math, and see that I still have three stars for today, I know that I haven't taken any of my medications. However, one thing I don't like is that there isn't a way for me to track my progress at taking my medications, like a graph, or maybe some improvement statistics.
I really appreciate the clean look of the app. Some apps for medical use try to accomplish too much at once, and I get overwhelmed and delete it. Ain't nobody got time for that negativity! I try to use apps that make me feel good when I use them, which DrugStars does by allowing you to give back to charities that you may want to support. In the screen recording I attached, you can see the awesome descriptions of each charity and the variety amongst them! It really motivates me to take my medications, because I love giving back to those who need it! I've tried soooo many different apps for remembering my medications, including an old-fashioned alarm, and DrugStars is more of a gentle reminder to help yourself, AND others who are in your position!
DrugStars is available in the AppStore or the Android Store
