"I have been given this product as part of a product review through the Chronic Illness Bloggers network. Although the product was a gift, all opinions in this review remain my own and I was in no way influenced by the company. "

I'm terrible at taking my medication. I have set up alarms, scheduled texts, I even have friends to remind me of medication times. Nothing works. Especially when I'm out with my friends or family. We've all been there: right in the middle of an epic conversation at your favorite restaurant and your phone goes off. It's medication time. You try to sneak your pill bottle out of your bag and shuffle the pills around until you find the right one. By the time you find the pills you have to take, drink some water, and put everything away, the moment is gone. Even if you are lucky enough, (like me) to have friends who never make you feel weird, it's the inconvenience that is bothersome.

Recently, I was contacted by the lovely people of PillDrill to try out their smart medication system. Spoiler alert: I. LOVE. IT. This review has been so difficult to write solely because I can't even describe how much I love this. My first impression when I opened the box was how sophisticated and well thought out everything was. The unit comes with two strips, one for the morning and one for the night. It also came with alphabetical tags for the medications that don't go in the little cubbies. I love that I'm able to track all my medications and my adherence to them. My favorite part is the little cubbies for my pills. It's like having little pots for your doses, and they pop out, so you can take them anywhere. The size is perfect because it's small enough to be convenient, but big enough to fit the horse pills that some of us take. The app that can be used with the system is amazing! You can use the mood cube to track your emotional health, and keep track of the medications you've taken even when you're away from home. As always, I do have some suggestions of things to work on. The Hub, which reminds you to take your meds, and stores all the information for you, is too bright for me. I even edited the settings to put it on the lowest level, and it still bothers me, especially when I sleep. I have trouble sleeping, and the glow that the Hub emits, is still too bright for me to sleep. My solution: I put a washcloth over the monitor. It isn't something that is a deal breaker, but I want to be honest. The truth: I love this system, and I don't think I can go back to the dark ages. I've been recommending this to everyone I know, especially the caretakers in my life. It's so easy to keep track of what medications have been scanned, that taking care of someone has been simplified. I realize that the price, $199, can seem steep, but I actually believe that this system is worth it! It will revolutionize the way you take care of your health! This is a system where everything has been thought of already, and the company is so willing to hear your ideas. They even have a symptom tracker that will be coming soon to the app. I can't wait to be able to use it and navigate through my side effects! Thank you to PillDrill, Julie, and Chronic Illness Bloggers for giving me the chance to review such an amazing product, I can't imagine my life without it.
